Initially, the provider will add Los Angeles, Chicago and Miami as service areas. Founded in 2008, IAS claims to move 750,000 pounds of air freight each day on its scheduled full-truckload and less-than-truckload services throughout the Texas network. The service operates from the state's major airports - Austin, Brownsville, Dallas/Fort Worth, El Paso, Harlingen, Houston, Laredo, McAllen and San Antonio - to all other airports and key destinations. Features of the Texas operation to be replicated in the expanded service network include integrated bonded trucking and storage, as well as a diversified fleet catering to shipper-built containers, intermodal freight and heavy and outsized cargo. Truck charter for ad hoc and large shipments will also be provided, the company said.
