CEVA Logistics has inked a five-year contract with Rolls-Royce Marine AS-Diesels, a subsidiary of Rolls-Royce Plc, and a leader in design, development, supply and support of diesel and gas-engines and propulsion systems for commercial and naval customers.
Through its business unit in the Benelux, CEVA Logistics will perform the role of lead logistics provider to coordinate supply chain management for the Rolls-Royce Marine AS-Diesels' plant in Bergen, Norway.
CEVA will handle the inbound flow of engine parts to the plant in Bergen and the outbound flow of completed engines and spare parts worldwide. For these activities, CEVA has teamed up with J. Martens, a freight specialist based in Bergen.
The agreement builds upon the existing partnership between CEVA Logistics and Rolls-Royce in the U.K. and the U.S.
Didrik Martens, CEO of J. Martens, says: "We are inspired by this opportunity to prove our ambition to make Rolls-Royce Marine more successful in their total supply chain management. To meet Rolls Royce Marine's expectations, our key to success lies in the ability to develop services in line with cutting edge logistics concepts and advancement in information technology."
