APU students are now eligible to receive ASTL's Professional Designation in Logistics and Supply Chain Management (PLS) credential with their degree. Both the master's and bachelor's level APU programs have been added to a select list of university programs nationwide that have been approved for PLS academic waiver by ASTL. In addition to the PLS credential, qualifying APU students also receive benefits including membership in ASTL and access to ASTL special resources and events.
APU is an online university and part of the American Public University System.
"American Public University has proven its commitment to helping educate the next generation of transportation and logistics industry professionals," said Laurie H. Denham, ASTL president. "The demand for skilled employees in our industry is increasing and logisticians have become one of the top 20 best business jobs in the country, according to U.S. News and World Report. The addition of an industry credential helps to enhance and affirm students' commitment to their career growth and to the industry itself."
"We are very pleased to have ASTL's validation of our transportation and logistics management program as one which provides the body of knowledge most critical to industry professionals," said Jennifer Batchelor, program director, transportation and logistics management, for APU.
