The initiative is supported by TrainCaster LMS, an on-line training platform. Shapiro spent nearly a year gathering and creating online course catalogs before introducing the program. Its first courses are focusing on information-security awareness and the company's history and structure. Many of the course offerings are Web-based, allowing students to work at their own pace. Shapiro U will also offer seminars and webinars to its customers. The most recent webinar series, the Logistics of Importing and Logistics of Exporting, aired in May and June of this year, respectively. Shapiro has six offices and more than 100 employees, in addition to strategic alliances around the world.
