OATSystems has released its new Asset Tracking and Work-in-Process application, utilizing radio frequency identification (RFID) technology. According to the vendor, the tool enables industrial, aerospace and automotive manufacturers, as well as retailers, to improve asset visibility and utilization, enhance work-in-process manufacturing, and cut down on both shrink and error-proof deliveries. Asset Tracking incorporates industry best practices and proven-use cases. It can integrate data from heterogeneous RFID tag sources, including passive, active and sensory tags. Users get visibility into inventory and asset movements throughout their operations, across trading partners and geographically dispersed facilities. OATSystems provides support for the entire RFID process, from tagging to data capture, automation, error-proofing of business processes and analysis. In another company announcement, OATSystems has partnered with Tyco Electronics to offer an RFID system to industrial manufacturers. The deal combines Tyco's tags with the OATSystems Asset Tracking software.
