To streamline their supply chains, major retailers are pushing inventory, risk, and increased operating requirements back on their supplier base. Such efforts have a disproportionate negative impact on small and mid-sized suppliers, and are a major source of frustration for this group. This was among the findings of a survey of 110 logistics executives at consumer packaged goods companies, conducted by Auburn University and sponsored by Kane Is Able, a 3PL that serves CPG companies.
