Two new applications, Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPM) and Trailer Tire Inflation Alerts (TTIA), provide truck fleets with tools for proactive tire maintenance. They display information that is pulled directly from integrated, third-party tire-pressure monitoring and inflation systems in near real time. Fleets receive notifications whether the tractor is moving or stationary. Omnitracs' new Virtual Load View application delivers message data from vehicles equipped with authorized Omnitracs Mobile Computing Platforms to approved third parties. The result, said the vendor, is greater visibility into vehicles' arrivals, departures and load statuses. Virtual Load View provides one consolidated view of a fleet's proprietary, brokered or subcontracted loads. Omnitracs has made enhancements to its Critical Event Reporting (CER) application, with the introduction of Over Speed Events as an add-on, and introduction of an additional provider of integrated Following Time Violation (FTV) and Forward Collision Warning (FCW) sensors. Fleets can set customized driver-speed thresholds. In addition, Omnitracs has partnered with TMW Systems, Inc., a vendor of transportation-management software, integrating the two companies' applications. Omnitracs, a wholly owned subsidiary of Qualcomm Inc., is in the process of being sold to Vista Equity Partners.
