Con-way Freight says a major expansion to its freight assembly center in Fremont, Ind., gives the facility 204 dock doors to accommodate the more than 450 trailers and 120 tractors that utilize the center daily.
"As one of our largest facilities, the Fremont FAC moves three million pounds of freight each day and is strategically located to provide excellent transit times both for regional freight as well as transcontinental shipments," says David S. McClimon, president of Con-way Freight. "Based on current business levels and projected growth, it was the right decision to invest in this major expansion to better meet the changing service needs of our customers."
Market points for next-day freight delivery service include Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky, Wisconsin, Iowa, Missouri, Pennsylvania and Knoxville. Second-day freight delivery service is provided to the Northeast U.S., most of the South, the upper Midwest and parts of Colorado and Wyoming.
