Syspro has built new scheduling options into its Syspro Factory Scheduling Software. The enhancements, which range from basic planning and board-type scheduling to the most sophisticated advanced-scheduling systems, are intended to help factory managers implement Lean manufacturing practices. Syspro Factory Scheduling consists of three product offerings: the Graphical Planning Board, Finite Scheduler and Advanced Scheduler. The Graphical Planning Board is a basic finite capacity scheduler with limited rules and features for automatic scheduling. The Finite Scheduler contains more sophisticated features, including the ability to consider multiple constraints such as machine, tools and labor variables. Managers can more accurately schedule factories using features such as transfer batches, sequence-dependent setup times, preferred resource selections, maximum operation spans and maximum delay between operations. The Advanced Scheduler enables high-quality scheduling through the use of scheduling rules and the availability of components and raw materials. Factory managers can define their own complex rules using filters, a combination of standard or user-defined advanced rules, and user-defined scripts. In another company development, Syspro has added automated scheduling of analytics and reporting to Syspro Reporting Services, the vendor's analytics and reporting tool, which incorporates an embedded version of Crystal Reports XI. The feature enables users to schedule reports to run at a specific date and time without further intervention. Operators can schedule reports to run at a specific time, at regular intervals. They can also pre-define run-time prompts, enabling different versions of the same report to be produced automatically.
