Telargo, Inc., a vendor of mobile asset-management software, has added an Hours of Service (HOS) module to its fleet-management product. The module will supply real-time management of driver status, detailed historical route and event analysis, and a system of alerts for regulatory compliance. According to Telargo, the module has been customized for specific HOS regulations covering drivers and motor carriers in the U.S. The rules are intended to give drivers enough time to sleep and rest between time on the road. Drivers are required to keep duty records that track detention, unloading and driving time. Telargo's HOS module is integrated into the Telargo Control Center, and has the ability to manage, track and archive hours-of-service records electronically.
