The deal is valued at approximately $300m. Gordon is a full-truckload carrier founded in 1946, with an average length of haul of approximately 400 miles. It is primarily focused on dry-van markets, although it generates approximately 14 percent of revenues from refrigerated operations, and 7 percent from freight brokerage. Its fleet of equipment includes about 2,000 tractors and 6,500 trailers. The company's service-center network is concentrated in the western U.S., with major operations in Washington, Oregon, Northern and Southern California, and Idaho. Heartland said the deal will create the fifth-largest asset-based truckload fleet in North America.
