Menlo Worldwide has opened a 6,500-square-meter (70,000-square-feet) facility at the AMB Douglassingel Distribution Center near Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport.
The multi-client center becomes the company's new European headquarters, and is Menlo's fourth-largest of eight distribution and logistics centers in Europe serving customers in the high-tech industry and other markets. The new facility replaces a previous 3,000-square-meter operation at Koolhovenlaan in the same area of Schiphol-Rijk.
"As the center of an extensive network connecting the rest of Europe, Amsterdam is a crucial market for Menlo and our customers," says Gert Askes, managing director of European operations for Menlo Worldwide. "The proximity of this new facility to the airport and customs is ideal and allows us very fast turnaround times. It is also a state-of-the-art building, perfectly suited to support the requirements of our high-tech clientèle. This positions us for growth as the market continues to seek capacity and expanded services for logistics and distribution management throughout the pan-European market."
