The 211,000-square-foot facility is located within the state's Inland Empire, 50 miles east of Los Angeles. Kane said the expansion was in response to the needs of a long-time customer, as well as the desire to address growing demand in the Southern California market. The facility will provide cross-dock, distribution and transportation services. The expansion of services is the result of a redesign of Kane's partner network. It comes on the heels of the company's expansion in the Atlanta market. Kane currently has 21 facilities, with primary locations in Southern California, Atlanta, Chicago, Kansas City, New Hampshire and Maryland. It also operates more than 2 million square feet of distribution space in Scranton, Penn., site of Kane's corporate headquarters.
