Intelleflex Corp. has made available a new radio frequency identification (RFID) tag that works near metal, liquid and other materials that can hamper RFID functionality. The SMT-7100 tag allows for reads at multiple angles. It is equipped with what Intelleflex calls an "inverted F-plane" antenna design, increasing operational reliability around metallic objects and materials. The tag also carries an IP67 reading, which protects against environmental conditions such as moisture, dust and vibration. Its design guards against physical impact and damage to the tag. The SMT-7100 adds to Intelleflex's line of Extended Capability RFID products. The company also offers multi-protocol readers which are based on standards set down by the Electronic Product Code and the International Organization for Standardization; they are also capable of reading C1G2 and C3 tags.
