Dallas-based Tri Global Energy announced an agreement with BNSF Logistics to help develop a 40-acre site to handle the hundreds of wind turbines that will come via rail and truck over the next few years.
The West Texas Wind Energy Logistics Center will handle receiving, storage and loading for Tri Global Energy's massive community wind farms, touted as the biggest in the country.
"Having a freight and logistics powerhouse like BNSF Logistics bringing their resources and expertise to boost TGE's West Texas projects provides a critical element supporting our overall vision," said John Billingsley Jr., CEO of TGE. "West Texas has emerged as the bulls-eye for wind energy projects in North America, due to ideal wind speeds, geography and being at the nexus of the three U.S. power grids."
