Covering 26,000 square meters, the complex was constructed by the Duisport Group on one of the last available plots on the logport 1 site, the port said. The site includes a 6,000-square-meter warehouse for dangerous goods. Yusen Logistics now maintains around 70,000 square meters of storage area at Duisburg. The Duisport Group invested around 16m euros (US$22m) in the new construction. The expansion makes available another 10,000 square meters of high-bay racking space and an equivalent amount of new cross-dock area. The extra space allows the automotive and supplies industry to consolidate components and just-in-time deliveries to production plants throughout Europe and overseas, the port said. Central offices for Yusen Logistics were also included in the new logistics center.
