The new FTZ includes a secure area covering 4,172 square feet, utilizing both of the inventory-control systems approved by U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Depending on the needs of the customer, CEVA can use the Zone Lot Tracking System or a First-In, First-Out Universal Identification Number system. An FTZ allows for the reduction, deferral or elimination of duties for certain authorized components, scrap material or finished goods. Users can also defer the harbor maintenance fee for ocean arrivals, and save substantially on the merchandise processing fee, CEVA said. CEVA’s Miami gateway includes a fully compliant cold-chain hub for healthcare products. CEVA is a non-asset-based provider of logistics and supply-chain management services.
