Logility, Inc., a vendor of transportation-management system (TMS) software for carriers, has created a Carrier On-Boarding Service to speed up implementations of its product. The tool allows shippers and carriers to collaborate via a Web portal and electronic data interchange (EDI). In the process, they obtain visibility of information related to loads, tenders, bids, shipment status and freight payment. The secure portal limits access to carrier-specific loads. Users can view load tenders, including stops, equipment, delivery requirements and other details. Carriers can then accept or reject the loads, as well as enter information on shipment status and delivery. They can also bid on loads, enter available equipment, enter freight bills and check payment status. Logility also announced that it has teamed up with Kleinschmidt, a provider of transportation EDI services, to get EDI-based carriers up and running on the system more quickly.
