The carrier has launched a pair of container-drayage operations in Front Royal, Va., and Portland, Ore. Old Dominion now offers direct container drayage from 20 ports, as part of its OD-Global service. The company’s National Container Drayage division can move full containerload imports or exports, as well as domestic rail shipments, directly between any point of origin in the continental U.S. and ports and railheads in its service network. In addition, Old Dominion has completed the expansion of its Portland Service Center in Portland, ME. The renovated operation contains 43 doors, an increase of more than 60 percent over the original service center. The carrier has had a presence in Maine since 2005. Old Dominion offers regional, inter-regional and national less-than-truckload service, as well as ground and air expedited transport, supply-chain consulting, transportation management, truckload brokerage, container delivery, warehousing and household moving services.
