Weber Distribution, a major West Coast logistics and supply chain management provider, has a new hub in Seattle to meet the growing need for LTL trucking and cross-docking services in the Pacific Northwest.
Located 17 miles from the Port of Tacoma, the newly constructed warehouse will handle extensive pool distribution inbound shipments from points east of the Rockies, and LTL deliveries from shippers throughout the Western United States. The facility will also offer high quality temperature-controlled product handling, meeting all food-grade standards and requirements, as well as dry storage and transportation options.
"With our expanded LTL trucking network and new fleet of 150 refrigerated trailers, we needed a Seattle-based facility to handle our customers' inbound pool distribution requirements for the Pacific Northwest region from product arriving from our Oregon, California, Arizona, and Nevada facilities," says John Nutt, Weber's chief operating officer. "A variety of top-named companies have an immediate need for the new Seattle facility, including Brach's, Chef Solutions, Worlds Finest Chocolate, and Pfizer/Capsugel."
The facility will use Weber's warehouse management system, known as LINKS, designed to supply Weber's customers with direct visibility and control over their inventory via the internet. LINKS is integrated with Weber's TransLINKS TMS system, which provides web-based visibility to its transportation customers.
