Solution: Kenco redesigned the 478,000 square-foot layout with very narrow aisle (VNA) racking, implemented a new warehouse management system, and created a customized flexible storage strategy with distinct storage areas, including VNA racking, VNA floor storage, standard aisle floor storage, shipping, receiving, and packaging.

Results: Kenco reduced the manufacturer’s space requirement by 28%. The warehouse reconfiguration allowed SKUs to increase from 2,000 to more than 35,000; pieces stored went from 42,000 to more than 3 million; and the number of lines picked and shipped per day went from 250 to 1,800.
