SAS Cargo Group A/S is offering additional airfreight capacity on the Scandinavia-Bangkok and Scandinavia-Dubai routes, with the Oct. 31 launch of the airline's winter traffic program. To Bangkok, SAS is operating two more weekly frequencies, with approximately 30 tons each way. The new direct route between Stockholm and Bangkok will complement the five weekly departures from Copenhagen to Bangkok. For Swedish shippers, the departures from Stockholm will save about a day in transport time, the airline said. To Dubai, SAS Cargo is adding three weekly frequencies, carrying 45 tons each way. The new capacity to Dubai supplements SAS's current all-cargo capacity between Gothenburg and Dubai, running three times a week. The extra space will benefit customers with a demand for express products and special items, SAS said. The airline has appointed Dnata Cargo as local sales and handling agent for the United Arab Emirates. The winter traffic program runs until March 30, 2008.
