It provides sea, air and road freight forwarding as well as customs clearance for inbound and outbound shipments from the U.K. In addition to its headquarters in Basildon, east of London, it has four operational centers across the U.K. Singapore Post said the acquisition will help it to establish an entry point into the Western European freight market, as well as strengthen its electronic-commerce logistics services, which complement its existing postal and parcel networks. Alfred Stienen will remain group chairman of F.S. Mackenzie. He said the sale will allow the U.K. company to broaden its freight network with the help of a financially strong parent company.
