Blue Sky Logistics, Inc., a provider of supply-chain visibility dashboards and alerting software, has introduced an inventory-visibility service. The application is aimed at providing better access to information about inventory quantities; aging; historical and per-period movements; demand information by item, category and vendor; performance measurements of inbound orders and suppliers; financial data on last cost, average cost, and value on hand; and inventory on hand for purposes of recall tracking. The Web-based application stores current and historical inventory levels and demand information. It includes a plug-in framework to push or pull data into the visibility database. The capability includes current adaptors for several of the top supply-chain applications in the industry, as well as homegrown applications, Blue Sky said. The tool can also serve as a multi-user dashboard application, which allows for shared or private views of different types of users. The dashboard includes purchase advisory views for regional buyers; distribution center inventory views for D.C. managers and inventory control; global inventory views for corporate buyers and managers; historical information on supplier performance, inventory aging and held inventory for recall management; and an item category summary.
