Under the deal, Convoy customers will be able to draw on existing or planned camera investments in conjunction with SmartDrive’s onboard cameras and video-based safety program. In the process, the companies said, users get an expanded view of their vehicles, as well as specific risk areas that are important to their fleets. As part of the partnership, Convoy’s products will be certified for integration with SmartDrive’s open platform and Assurance 360 product line. Assurance 360 provides coverage with a deployment configuration of up to four cameras, including blind-spot and backup units. SmartDrive’s video-based safety program identifies unsafe driving practices through an open platform that captures video, vehicle, audio and driving data, and automatically offloads footage for review and analysis. The company maintains a storehouse of more than 80 million analyzed risky-driving events.
