The “Funding Strategy” guide offers a comprehensive resource that addresses innovative ways and best practices for funding and financing major port capital improvements. According to the authors, the guide’s analytical tools are designed to help ports to develop investment-grade project plans that can attract public and private investment dollars. The guide is the first module of the Port Planning and Investment Toolkit (PPIT), an initiative to help U.S. seaports obtain funding for freight transportation, facility and other port-related improvement projects. Future modules will further assist ports in developing capital plans and determining the most cost-effective, sustainable and efficient solutions to port challenges.
