The company has combined its former offices in the two locations into a single new facility. The growth of its presence there has been driven by the momentum of business in Malaysia over the past two years, UTi said. In another company announcement, UTi is expanding its cold-chain offering in Europe, with the launching of a facility in Rome that is certified for Good Distribution Practices (GDP), and Center of Excellence for Independent Validators (CEIV) certification of its operation at Brussels Airport. UTi said it had positioned its Rome hub based on the high concentration of pharmaceutical companies operating in the central and southern regions of Italy. The 1,700-square-meter facility is located close to Fiumicino-Leonardo da Vinci International Airport and the trans-European motorway. The CEIV designation at the Brussels Airport location applies to UTi’s International Air Transport Association (IATA) training and pharmaceutical freight certification program. UTi is a non-asset-based provider of supply chain services.
