Launched in the U.S. in 2012, the tool was designed to provide high-quality visualizations with precise geocoding and commercial routing, for integration with business applications. ALK Maps includes flexible layering, which displays the map as a base layer and allows users to overlay routing, geocoding points, weather, traffic or other data as separate controllable layers. External geographic data can also be added as a vector or image layer, ALK said. The vendor also announced that Trimble's field service management applications will be replacing their current mapping system with ALK Maps globally. ALK is a Trimble company.
