E2open has built new capabilities into its software for managing the supply chain, procurement and business-to-business integration. Version 6.4 of the E2open Multi-Enterprise Platform is intended to shorten the time required to complete transformation initiatives. The software compresses deployment time from months to weeks, the vendor claimed. The change was made possible by adoption of a software-as-a-service (SaaS) model, along with templates for trading-partner onboarding and configuration that capture common global supply-chain and procurement practices. The tool also allows customers to augment their initial deployments with new multi-company processes and enhanced functionality. Users can achieve enhanced visibility of logistics and quality compliance, customer and distributor integration, and business-intelligence capabilities. A single on-demand integration platform manages both external trading partners and internal applications from SAP, Oracle and others, E2open said. Customers have access to new Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) application programming interfaces, an enterprise resource planning (ERP) integration framework, self-configuration toolkits, and self-service reporting and analytics.
