DT Research, Inc., a vendor of information appliances for various industries, has made available three new hardware applications for its WebDT line of mobile tablets. According to the company, the WebDT 310 and 360 are the first mobile tablets that can be ordered with an integrated barcode scanner, magnetic stripe reader (MSR) or camera. Users can automatically capture information from those media, then seamlessly save the data or photo into commercial applications. The devices are available in 8.4-inch and 10.4-inch touch-screen displays, featuring flash-based storage and extendable, hot-swappable batteries. Each has a customizable operation system which supports the Microsoft Windows XP Embedded, CE .NET and Windows Tablet PC operating systems. At the same time, DT Research has integrated the Intermec EA15 scan engine into its WebDT 310 and 360 mobile tablets. Businesses can conduct on-the-spot customer service and improve inventory management by accurately capturing and saving data into commercial applications at any location, the company said. The Intermec EA15 scan engine is configured for barcode reading; it can capture information even if the barcode is smudged, ripped or poorly printed.
