The company has added eight origin and five destination countries. The service is aimed at international heavyweight shipments that are urgent, time-sensitive or of high value. The guaranteed service is now available to 58 origin and 56 destination countries and territories. New origin points include Bulgaria, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Romania and Serbia. New destination countries include El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama. The service offers palletized shipments of more than 150 pounds (70 kg). Saturday deliveries are available to select U.S. and Canadian postal codes. According to Nick Basford, UPS vice president of international marketing, Eastern Europe is experiencing growth in its manufacturing and automotive industries, while Latin America is undergoing rapid expansion in the general industrial, healthcare, apparel and high-tech sectors.
