In its capacity as a nationwide intermodal marketing company, ReTrans gives Kuehne & Nagel direct access to the railroads. John Hextall, president and chief executive officer of Kuehne & Nagel in North America, said the acquisition will complement the company's existing business portfolio in sea freight, airfreight, contract logistics and overland transport. ReTrans is a non-asset-based broker of intermodal transportation, as well as full- and less-than-truckload capacity in the U.S. and Canada. It has more than 300 employees in 68 locations.
