RedPrairie Corp. has created a Food Service Management application for petroleum and convenience stores. The software optimizes food-service operations for retailers, including food preparation, production planning, recipes and fresh-item management. The data can be fully integrated with inventory, labor and sales information for accurate forecasts of production and labor requirements, the vendor said. Food Service Management has previously been available to traditional food-service operators, such as Dunkin Brands, Popeye's and Church's Chicken. Now, petroleum and convenience store operators can set up recipes for depletion, and use sales forecasts to prepare items to meet demand. Retailers with smaller food-service items can track paper goods used with each item sold, or waste on doughnuts at the end of the day. Prep worksheets direct the number of hot dogs and sausages to place on the grill each hour, and when to make a new batch of coffee. Food Service Management is part of RedPrairie's E2e Retail suite, which covers such processes as workforce, inventory, operations and performance management.
