Penske Logistics has opened a new intermodal and multi-client distribution center in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. The facility currently occupies 33,000 square feet, out of an available 100,000 feet. Equipped with 14 doors and cross-dock capability, it can serve multiple clients simultaneously. The center is located along a major rail line, allowing for the efficient transfer of product between rail and truck. Penske first set up a presence in Mexico in 1996. Today, it employs approximately 400 people at 10 locations in the country, serving a variety of global manufacturers with lead logistics services, distribution-center management, sequencing and regional transportation management. The new facility at San Luis Potosi, located at the Logistik Industrial Park, has a staff of approximately 20. Penske said the operation will aid its business growth in Mexico.
