The facility, the company's first refrigerated storage operation in Hong Kong, will support rising demand for food imports by Japan and Europe, driven primarily by e-commerce, the company said. The 17,000-square-meter center is located 25 kilometers from the Hong Kong Airport, and is immediately adjacent to the container terminal. It had previously provided various types of logistics services for electrical and electronic goods. The chilled facility provides storage at a temperature range between 2 degrees C and 5 degrees C, and the frozen facility provides storage between -18 degrees C and -15 degrees C. The facility also provides storage, entering and dispatching, processing for distribution, packaging and inventory for non-residents. Yusen Logistics maintains a container freight station at the site for its reefer ocean container service.
