Hyster Co. has developed the Fortis line of lift trucks. The units are available with multiple powertrain configurations to meet specific application requirements. They range in capacity from 2,000 to 15,500 pounds, offering both cushion and pneumatic tire classes, with multiple engine choices of gas, liquid petroleum and diesel. Hyster is also offering a choice of performance transmissions, hydraulic controls and cooling-system options. The Fortis series includes a Pacesetter VSM industrial onboard computer for adjusting performance to maximize uptime, Hyster said. The units' DuraMatch transmission system includes such features as auto deceleration, controlled rollback on ramps, controlled power reversals and auto-speed hydraulics with automatic inching control. To reduce operator fatigue, the new lift trucks incorporate repositioned foot pedals, compartments designed to isolate vibrations, and easily adjustable settings.
