Deploying a Boeing 787, the new Pacific service opens up opportunities for customers connecting traffic through LAX to more than 200 destinations in North and Latin America, AA Cargo said. Other new routes previously announced by the carrier in the Pacific include Haneda (Tokyo) and Sydney, Australia. Cargo on the inaugural flight out of LAX included a variety of perishables and other consolidated freight, AA Cargo said. It was expecting to add medical supplies and mining machinery on the first return flight from New Zealand. Commonly shipped commodities in the region include e-commerce goods, perishables, horticulture products, edible fish and chilled meats. AA Cargo has appointed GSA Cargo Service as its sales agent in Auckland, complementing the latter’s existing role for the airline in Australia.
