ASF president Michael Smith said the move was motivated by Baltimore’s location on the Atlantic Coast and proximity to the Midwest. The new site will begin with three employees and approximately 30 drivers, although the company intends to expand rapidly. Smith expects to have up to 30 trucks operating from the Baltimore location within the next 12 months, as well as additional support staff. Other ASF Intermodal terminals include locations in Mobile, Houston, Atlanta, Charleston, Charlotte, Dallas-Fort Worth, Memphis, New Orleans, Norfolk, Savannah and Chicago.
