The tool provides instant comparison, booking and management of freight services from multiple logistics providers. It is intended to make the shipping of goods as easy as booking a flight online, the company said. Previously, Freightos automated millions of freight quotes for major freight forwarders. The new Freightos Marketplace, which launched in closed beta in January, 2016, gives small and medium-sized importers and retailers the ability to compare, book and manage freight rates in real time. The company has since updated the platform with increased functionality and added more forwarders selling additional routes by air, ocean and land. Initially, the marketplace is focusing on U.S. imports from China by air and ocean.
