AA Cargo said it is obtaining the certification on the heels of investments made over the last few years to enhance its cold-chain program. Initial stations will include the carrier's home base and key hub at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport and Miami International. As the largest airline at MIA, AA Cargo's certification will support the airport's Pharma Hub Initiative. The carrier will also certify Philadelphia International in connection with a dedicated, 25,000 square-foot pharmaceutical and healthcare handling facility, which opened in 2015. The IATA certification, known as the Center for Excellence and Independent Validators (CEIV), validates the capabilities associated with the proper transportation of delicate, temperature-controlled pharmaceutical shipments.
