The partners said they will collaborate to enable critical components of on-demand manufacturing. The agreement includes digitization and simplification of the production part approval process through SAP. It will enable the approval and certification of a greater number of industrial 3D print-ready production parts, which can be ordered through UPS On-Demand Manufacturing with full integration into SAP's manufacturing and procurement processes, the companies said. In addition, the arrangement will allow for automatic quantification of the financial viability of 3D printing versus traditional procurement or manufacturing options. Orders will be seamlessly routed to UPS for production and delivery, with companies able to track their orders from their SAP software, according to SAP and UPS. The agreement will be part of a new distributed network from UPS.
