FedEx Express will increase shipping rates by about 4 percent for U.S. domestic, U.S. export and U.S. import services. FedEx Ground and FedEx Home Delivery will increase shipping rates by about 5 percent. FedEx SmartPost rates will also change.

Earlier this month, UPS announced its general rate increase for 2017 is also about 5 percent, effective Dec. 26.

The FedEx Express and FedEx Ground U.S. domestic dimensional weight divisor will change from 166 to 139, effective Jan. 2, 2017.
