IBM and Retalix have joined in developing an integrated system-management tool for grocery and convenience-store retailers. The product will help clients to manage their point-of-sale systems, applications and other elements of the retail data center, the partners said. It combines the Retalix portfolio of retail automation software, including Retalix StoreLine and StorePoint, with IBM's Remote Management Agent (RMA). Retailers gain the ability remotely to monitor, configure and track hardware, software and applications in a single store, or multiple stores, from a centralized location. In the process, they can manage their entire operation, from front of the store to back office, from a single console. The combination of technologies can help retailers to streamline operations, enhance customer service and improve margins, the companies claimed. Retalix is an independent provider of software to retailers and distributors worldwide.
