Intelleflex Corp, a developer of radio frequency identification (RFID) technology, has made available the BAT-7300, an RFID badge tag with extended operating range and large on-tag memory. The device can be read at distances exceeding 100 feet, through clothing and when in proximity to the body. It is equipped with 60k bits of secure rewriteable on-tag memory. The features enable applications that track personnel movement, provide zone-access control, and utilize such information as user data, authentication keys, security clearance and access privileges stored directly on the badge. When deployed in conjunction with Intelleflex's multi-protocol readers and other members of the vendor's tag family, the BAT-7300 can be used simultaneously to track the movement of RFID-tagged assets and staff. It is applicable to vehicle yard-management and IT asset tracking, offering visibility both for assets and individuals responsible for their movement and handling.
