The position of the chief procurement officer is believed by many to have taken on increased significance in corporations and the role is thought to have grown more strategic in recent years. Globalization, compliance pressures, and other factors have triggered a trend toward centralization of the procurement function for the purposes of standardization and leverage. Many CPOs now report directly to the president or the CFO or CEO of their company.
The CPO Summit is the premium forum bringing elite buyers and sellers together. As an invitation-only event, taking place behind closed doors, the Summit offers solution providers and procurement executives an intimate environment for a focused discussion of key new drivers shaping the industry.
The most recent CPO Summit took place in Las Vegas in October 2016 continued a tradition of providing an intimate environment for CPOs and selected service providers to engage in a meaningful way.
Keynote speaker Don Hnatyshin, SVP, Chief Supply Chain and Chief Procurement Officer of Jabil Circuit will share his insights on driving costs down through the digitization of the supply chain.
The event will also include a panel discussion on the principles for driving long-term collaboration throughout the organisation which will be moderated by Brian Bancroft, Vice President, Procurement, Coca-Cola Company.
The Vice President of Supply Chain from B/E Aerospace: “The CPO Summit is the ideal blend of highly engaging presentations collaborative round table discussions and valuable one-on-one introductions. The event is carefully planned, well organized and flawlessly executed.”
The Vice President & CPO from Luxottica Group comments: “Great format and content. Appreciated the smaller size of the event which allowed for more individual interaction.”
The value of the procurement role is increasing as procurement professionals are seen as much more than just cost-cutters. Procurement is taking the lead in order to be linked with all other sectors of the enterprise. By making the transition into a more integrated business unit, procurement professionals are able to prove that areas such as supplier relationships and category management have an impact on the enterprise as a whole, thus positioning procurement professionals as true leaders of the enterprise with knowledge of all business sectors.
