SAS Cargo has entered the Vietnamese air-cargo market, with shipments to be transported via Bangkok, Thailand. The new service shortens transit time from Vietnam to Scandinavia to just 24 hours, the airline said. Shipments will hook up with SAS's daily departures from Bangkok to Copenhagen, Denmark and Stockholm, Sweden. SAS said it was responding to growing production in Vietnam of items such as textiles, footwear and foodstuffs. In addition, it will offer Scandinavian customers a more efficient means of shipping air cargo to Vietnam, the company said. In line with the new Vietnam service, SAS has named Vector Aviation as its local partner, to aid in developing the market. SAS Cargo maintains direct air-cargo capacity between Scandinavia and Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Bangkok.
