Chrysler has promoted its top purchasing executive Simon Boag to the newly created position of vice president of global alliance operations, where he will focus on developing Chrysler's global alliances.
Chrysler has also named John Campi as its new executive vice president of procurement responsible for worldwide purchasing and supplier quality.
Boag came to Chrysler as vice president of procurement and supply from a post in Mercedes, after long-time Chrysler executive Peter Rosenfeld left the newly independent company.
Campi has been working as a consultant with Chrysler since October. Previous to that role, he was at Home Depot, where he was vice president of sourcing and vendor management.
In a statement, Campi said, "My goal is to take a disciplined approach to purchasing and apply best practices learned from both within and outside of the automotive industry."
