Inttra, the electronic-commerce platform for global ocean shipping, has expanded its operations in Thailand. The company has appointed Todsapol Lertpanitboon as its country manager. Based in an office in Bangkok, he will provide permanent support for Inttra's multi-carrier, e-commerce shipping customers. Inttra has been active in Thailand since the company's inception in 2000, according to Paul Stephen, managing director of the APAC region. With carrier partners boosting their reliance on Inttra's services, the vendor saw the need to establish its own presence in order to support the growing market. Thailand's export community is showing an increased desire to use e-commerce, Stephen said. As a result, he added, the country has become one of Inttra's most important markets in Southeast Asia. Inttra's e-commerce platform supports multiple shipping functions, including freight tender, sailing schedules, booking, shipping instructions, bills of lading, tracking and tracing, and reports. Users can access the platform via electronic data interchange, a PC application or Web-based app.
