Hanson Logistics has added four tractors to its fleet of linehaul trucks. The 2008 Kenworth 800 vehicles feature Aerocab sleepers, allowing Hanson to provide regional moves on behalf of customers with its own equipment. Hanson Logistics Transportation Management Services draws on more than 250 refrigerated, dry and rail carriers, offering both asset- and non-asset-based transportation. In addition to traditional distribution, the company operates Velocities Multi-Vendor Consolidation at its new Chicago Consolidation Center, where the new tractors are domiciled. Velocities MVC gives food manufacturers a shared truckload rate and scheduled delivery. The service reduces congestion and stockouts, Hanson claimed. The provider has eight refrigerated warehouses, totaling 34.5m cubic feet of deep frozen, refrigerated and dry warehousing space.
