Agility, a global logistics provider, has announced two regional expansions, in East Africa and the Kurdistan region of Iraq. The East African expansion involves the acquisition of a Kenyan logistics company, Starfreight Logistics Limited, based in Nairobi. Offering freight forwarding and customs brokerage, Starfreight concentrates on the procurement and clearing of goods and machinery into Africa. Its services also include warehousing and project forwarding, haulage, cross-border documentation and transport, air freight and customs examination. The company has more than 150 employees and two offices in Kenya. In Iraq, Agility has entered into a partnership that opens up operations in the Kurdistan region of that country. The new entity known as Agility Kurdistan Limited is the result of a deal with Kurdistan Capital Investment, along with two other regional business figures. The company will invest in the construction of warehousing facilities for storage, transportation, freight forwarding, customs clearance and associated services. It will also explore real-estate opportunities, Agility said. Agility has more than 550 offices in 100 countries. It is made up of three key operating units: Global Integrated Logistics, Defense & Government Services, and Investments.
